Davy Jones And His Life Fulfilled

Recently, there has been some news in the music industry that some of the more mature folk will appreciate. The lead singer and most notable member of the Monkees, Davy Jones, died due to a sudden heart attack while taking care of his horses in Florida. This star, who caught the eye of producers over five decades ago, had a certain appeal that turned out to be one of his more admirable traits; he seemed to be happy all of the time.

Now, obviously there were the down times in his life, especially when his stardom slipped after the Monkees went their separate ways. But Mr. Jones had his own way of dealing with the troubles that would arise in his life, he loved his horses and the time to take care of them. Being a former jockey from the UK, he had developed a real passion for riding and training these magnificent animals.

Standing a mere 5 feet and 3 inches tall, he could attract literally any woman, even the tall ones. In fact, apparently he was attracted to taller women as a personal preference. He was a very handsome man and a smile that had stardom written all over it. Nonetheless, a smile only goes so far in popularity and Hollywood. After struggling for several years, Davy found the opportunity to capitalize on his individual fame. While part of the Monkees band and television hit show, he was touted as the one member who had the following.

As a move to bolster his income and get back in the scene, so to speak, he took the time and resources to do shows, solo of course, singing the popular songs from his earlier successes using different band members. His popularity began to increase to the point that he could be seen doing shows anywhere in the country. Not only did he sing, he also did some commercials as well. For a health care company in Sherman, Texas, he did a short spot and was included in billboard ads. While unusual or odd to think of him as doing this kind of work, it helped to boost his name recognition.

The news of his death was quite unexpected, and at a time when he was still very active in doing shows. In fact, he had performed in Oklahoma a short time prior to his demise. Davy Jones was small in stature, but this did nothing to stop his determination to succeed and become what he dreamed. The Arts was as much a passion as his love for horse riding. Performing in plays and doing theater gave him the release and satisfaction that he accomplished what he set out to do in life. As in life, his death happened while doing what he loved.
