Interesting Facts About The Beatles Band

The Beatles musical compositions are mostly Pop and Rock && Roll. They joined the music industry in the early 60's. Their first single Love Me Do was released in 1962. It became a hit, occupying No. 2 in UK's Billboard. The success of the Beatles' first single paved the way to their popularity, creating a craze known as Beatlemania. Beatlemania spread fast to the other parts of the world when the Beatles embarked on an International Tour. The band was composed of four British lads namely, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr.

They were also known as "Fab Four". The original members included Stuart Sutcliffe and Pete Best. The Fab Four made an international performance from 1964 to 1966. Many people around the globe were addicted to the Beatles melody. There was euphoria wherever the band performed. My friend's mom passed-out after forcing her way through a thick crowd, so she could see the Fab Four. I could understand the obsession fans have for their idols, but Beatlemania was one kind of extreme.

The band's first album, entitled "The Beatles" became number 1 in the British chart soon after its release in 1963. From then, until 1970, eleven out of twelve studio albums they released became number 1. Some of the albums they produced were: The Beatles, Revolver, Sgt. Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band, Abbey Road, Let It Be, The White Album, Magical Mystery Tour, Yellow Submarine, Help, Please, Please Me and more. The Beatles is the band's best-selling album, declared 19 times platinum according to the Recording Industry Association of America. It remained number 1 on the Billboard 200 for 155 weeks. White Album was ranked 10th in 2003 by Rolling Stones magazine's Greatest Album of All Time.

Their best singles that have occupied No. 1 in the Chart are Love Me Do, Hey Jude, Let it Be, Revolution, She Loves You, Something, Yesterday, Strawberry Fields Forever, In My Life, I Want To Hold Your Hand, Can't Buy Me Love, I Feel Fine, Day Tripper/We Can Work It Out, From Me To You, Hello, Goodbye, Help, All You Need, Yellow Submarine, Paper Back Writer, A Hard Day's Night, Lady Madonna. Hey Jude is the band's best-selling single with estimated world sales of over 5M in 1968.

Beatles garnered 7 Grammy Awards, Times Magazine's 20th Century's 100 Most Influential People, 15 Ivor Novello Awards, 1988 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Top 1 at Billboard's magazine list of All-time Hot 100 Artists, and many more, including the accolade of millions of fans worldwide.
